Review

Even though I was not born in the 60s nor 70s, I think that this novel gives me a good feel of what that time was like. This novel truly encapsulates the rock n' roll scene during that time. The atmosphere and the composition of the story create a real and authentic feel of the character's emotions. The format of this novel also adds to that authenticity. The novel is in transcript form and it's like an interview. The book is also filled with wonderful quotes that just add to the character's in-depth developments. On top of all that, this book shines the women characters in a very raw and talented light where they are standing up for themselves and not letting the men rule them. I liked the plot as well as the flow of the storytelling.

The only complaint that I have about the book is that there were moments when the plot stalled. There was nothing new happening so it felt like I was reading repetitive situations or thoughts. There were also times when I kept wondering who was talking and I kept forgetting the character's name. I think that is because there is no description of the characters just dialogue so it was hard to tell the characters apart.
